We take great pride in sourcing our coffee from Géogène, a local micro-roastery. Not only do our baristas use its delicious beans to create specialty coffees with our state-of-the-art machine, but the Géogène team also leads our coffee-themed workshops.

Géogène trades only in “ethical” coffee, i.e. produced in an eco-responsible way—from the growing of the beans, to the final product. Right from the start when it first opened, the micro-roastery committed itself to dealing only with growers who cultivate their crops using environmentally friendly techniques. Géogène itself roasts and packages its imported beans to the most exacting standards.

The team at Géogène maintain that the mark of an excellent coffee is how it is produced along the way. Eco-responsibility is key. The flavourful, high-quality coffees produced by the roastery certainly attest to that!

Coffee Roaster

Samuel Lessard-Beaupré is the beating heart of Géogène. He was the founder of Le Tassé – Café de quartier in Sherbrooke. Going against the grain, Samuel had opened it in 2010 in a run-down, seedy part of the city, but undeterred, he had prioritized the importance of educating his customers and offering them excellent service—the very ideals that he has brought with him to Géogène. Samuel (or a member of his professional team) offers regular coffee workshops at Ratatouille.
